Can a pioneer vsx-lx304-s be used as an AVR?

By James Bradley

Can a pioneer vsx-lx304-s be used as an AVR?

I had been using a Pioneer VSX-LX304-S for 3 months without any issues until yesterday when there was a power outage for a blink of an eye. The AVR switches on and it passes through any PICTURE from any HDMI inputs, but it sends no audio to the speakers (I have a 7.1.2 system installed) and displays no OSD.

Why is there no picture on my pioneer receiver?

So the problem seems to be just the receiver’s HDMI out. – The HDMI light is steady. But when I first plug in the TV to the receiver, it blinks for a bit, the audio blips in and out and then it stays steady. Still no picture. So, that’s the basic situation. Has anyone encountered anything like this before? What else can I tell you?

Why is my Pioneer Elite lx304 not working?

The receivers passthrough (watching cable with the receiver off) won’t work, unless I first turn the receiver on, then switch the input to CBL/SAT then shut it off. 2. It keeps automatically switching from CBL/SAT to TV. There isn’t even a TV input!

Why does my pioneer HDMI not output at 1080i?

No, unfortunately, it doesn’t. When the inputs are hooked up via HDMI, there’s no video processing options anyway, and they’re all set to output at 1080i already. It seems like the video out from HDMI is just not outputting anything. The OSD menu doesn’t even display.

How old is the Pioneer Elite VSX 26tx?

Pioneer Elite VSX 26TX. It’s 2 years old and was purchased new. It isn’t driven very hard, though used daily. Connected to the receiver are: 3 very poor speakers, 27″ Sony TV, Pioneer DVD player (digital audio coax), Mitsubishi SVHS, and a DISH network receiver (optical digital audio).

What kind of power does a pioneer vsx-42 have?

Power-wise, the VSX-42 is specified to offer a respectable 80 watts continuous per channel into 8 ohms (rated with two channels driven; see our test-bench results for the all-channels-driven power output). The receiver is certified for DLNA and Windows 7, so it plays well with a home server if you wish to stream content on a local network.

What kind of speakers does the pioneer elite receiver use?

Connected to the receiver are: 3 very poor speakers, 27″ Sony TV, Pioneer DVD player (digital audio coax), Mitsubishi SVHS, and a DISH network receiver (optical digital audio). All speaker connections are with 12 gauge speaker wire. All video connections are with Liberty S-video.

Why is my Pioneer Elite not outputting sound?

Other than the digital audio connections for the DVD & DISH, the audio connections are using Liberty connectors. All components are working great and there are no problems with the speakers. The symptoms began a few weeks ago. Periodically, the receiver would not output sound on power-up.
