How do I reset my Yamaha speaker?

How to reset / initialise MusicCast speaker WX-010, WX-030, MusicCast 20 and MusicCast 50?

  1. Switch “off” your unit using the „Power ON/OFF“ key.
  2. Push and hold the keys „Volume up and down“ for about 5 seconds.
  3. After step 2 push and hold the „Power on / off / connect” key for another 3 seconds.

Why does my Yamaha rx685 speakers shut off?

If another unit is displaying the same behaviour then it is more than likely being caused by an external issue with either the speakers you’ve connected or the power supply to the unit. There’s no reports of an inherant problem in association with this receiver that would explain or account for the issue you are having.

What causes a Yamaha receiver to shut off?

I’m wondering if perhaps one of the speaker wires is connected to itself at one of the binding posts creating a short circuit. This could happen when strands of the copper wire bridge the gap between the posts and touch the other side. A short like that would cause the receiver to go into protection mode and shut off.

Why is my Yamaha rx-a740 not working?

Frustrated I went out and bought a new receiver, Yamaha RX-A740 which has both wired and wifi built in. Issue still happening via it’s wireless and ethernet connection. Also have to note that the network dropout occurs on both receivers when I stream music using Apple Airplay via my laptop.

Why are my Yamaha Musicast 20 speakers not working?

Since disconnecting my MusiCast 20’s the receiver has not shut off. It seems that the problem is with the wireless speakers. The speakers work when used to stream music to them. A Yamaha tech told me there might be a problem with the transmitter/receiver internal antenna of the speakers and to send it in for a replacement. I hope he is correct.

Why is my Yamaha rx-v540 receiver not turning on?

Hi, one of these just landed on my bench, with the same symptoms. Fault turned out to be a bad NJM7805FA regulator, which was showing 0.7 volts on the +5VD2 output. The regulator tested ok when supplied externally, but the output fell under moderate load.

Why does my Yamaha rx-v685 shut off on its own?

My Yamaha rx-v685 receiver keeps shutting off on its own periodically, sometimes after a couple of hours and sometimes after a few minutes. I can turn the unit back on and all is fine until it turns itself off again. I checked all the speaker wires and even disconnected them and that did not solve the problem.

Why does my Yamaha receiver keep shutting down?

Yamaha receivers (like many) will shut off/go into protect mode if there is a short or if a speaker is not properly connected. And, as Robert noted above, they will also shut down if there is not enough available current to properly power the amp during loud passages. You need to determine the reason your receiver is shutting down.

When does a Yamaha amplifier turn itself on?

Yamaha Amplifier turns itself on randomly when plugged in I have a YAMAHA amplifier which is behaving little strange since past few months. When the amplifier is connected to any socket and plugged on, even though its in switch off mode, it starts automatically. I have to remove the plug completely to stop this happening.
