Is the Denon avr-2309ci an on screen display?

The AVR-2309CI employs an on-screen display, but unfortunately it is of the old Denon variety – no colors or fancy graphics here! For each source, I assigned the appropriate HDMI or component video input.

Why is my AVR not playing center channel?

To get the AVR to split the signal for the center channel to work, you may need to manually set listening mode to “DTS-Neo 6 .” If things are working well, with most sources you will get music mostly from the LR speakers, and dialog centered through the center channel.

What should I do if my Receiver is not playing center channel?

Usually “Auto-Surround” is the best option. Similarly, the “ALC/Standard” button can be used to force the receiver to use only the front main left and right speakers (Stereo mode). Press it several times to turn that feature on and off.

Do you have surround speakers on your AVR?

To answer Selden Ball’s question I do not have surround speakers. Only the center and two front’s as my system is a work in progress, with a sub coming shortly. If you guys would endulge me just a bit more. Out of the three face buttons on my AVR that I listed above would the “Auto Surround” option be the one that I would like to use?

Why does my Denon AVR not work on my TV?

If you have Dolby Digital set to ON on the cable box, but your TV cannot accept Dolby Digital audio (many cannot), there will be no audio passed to the TV, rather you would have to set Dolby Digital to OFF on the cable box. Why is my Denon HDMI audio passthrough not working?

How to turn on TV audio on Denon AVR?

There is a workaround using a Harmony remote, but you don’t need to use this with more current Denon or Marantz AV receivers that include the TV AUDIO SWITCHING setting option. Click to expand… The newer Denon AVR’s have a separate setting for HDMI / CEC and ARC. So you can leave ARC switched on but have HDMI / CEC switched off.

How does a Denon set top box work?

Your Denon has audio and video pass through when the receiver is in standby which means you can connect the set top box directly to the receiver via HDMI. This means that you can watch the set top box without having to have the receiver in full operation.

Can a AV receiver auto switch to arc?

The TV AUDIO SWITCHING setting prevents the receiver auto switching to the ARC source when the AV receiver detects the TV at power up, but you will however need to manually select the TV source if ever wanting to access audio from the TV using ARC.
