You should never pre-wire a home or residential space with HDMI. When planning to build a home theatre, a media room, or even just hanging a television display on your wall, it’s not unusual to see consumers buying and pre-wiring with an HDMI cable.

Is it safe to run HDMI cables through walls?

Wall-safe HDMI cables (included or buy your own): Some kits will include properly shielded HDMI cables that are safe to run behind your wall. If your kit doesn’t include them, you can always buy your own. If your kit doesn’t have any wall-rated HDMI cables, be sure to get your own.
