On my slightly older Denon 2808 you do kind of get the menu on the front LCD but it’s almost impossible to use without the manual open, but you may be able to struggle through using the front screen at a push. I think the main speakers are probably set to large and/or the sub is marked as off in the menus.

What should the bass be on a Denon AVR 2808?
In your case that would be everything below 40hz for the fronts, everything below 80hz for the rears and also the LFE channel. With regards to the LFE+MAIN setting it depends what the speakers have been set to (Small or Large) as to where it sends the bass and I’m still not 100% sure just exactly where it’s all going.
Why does my Amazon Fire TV not work with my AV receiver?
Joe got an Amazon Fire TV, but when he plugs it into his Denon AV receiver it doesn’t work. Leo says he likes the Denon AV receiver and can’t imagine why it wouldn’t work. Everything in the chain is “HDCP” complaint for copy protection. So it should work just fine.

Why is the front display on my Denon not working?
The front display on my unit will not work anymore. Tried dimmer button on remote, on receiver, did a factory reset, set/unset direct mode – nothing will turn on the front display. I get output in TV though and everything else works.
Can a Denon 2113avr use a subwoofer?
The manual isn’t clear but it might well be the case that direct mode will not use the sub. It does say that regular stereo (i.e. not direct) mode will output to the sub as well though. Failing that I would guess you will need to connect to a TV and bring up the speaker configuration menu unfortunately. I have a Denon 2113AVR which works well.
Is the Denon avr-s700w still under warranty?
He has a Denon AVR-S700W that he bought at Best Buy, I think an open box special. A couple of weeks later he called to report the display had gone black. Checking with BB, they sent him to Denon who said it’s still under warranty but he has to ship it to NJ. He’s still sitting on it.
