If you find that your JBL speaker keeps turning off by itself, check to see if the battery has a charge. It’s possible that either the charging cable or charging port has been damaged, and so it isn’t receiving any power when plugged in. Try different cables to see if that resolves the issue.

Sounds like an issue with the receiver. If it’s still under warranty tell them that it turns off when it receives a surround signal with the surround speakers disconnected. If your input is HDMI you can try a using a digital input instead for audio and see it the problem still occurs.
