Why does my Samsung TV keep flickering?
Having Energy Saving Mode turned on will adjust the brightness settings to reduce your TVs power consumption. If there are a lot of scene changes between light and dark or your room has sudden light changes, the TV may appear to be flickering as it adjusts the brightness or darkness.
Is there a problem with the pioneer receiver?
It does sound like the Pioneer receiver has an HDMI switching problem. That’s not unusual. Assuming that it’s out of warranty the cost of repairing the HDMI board is prohibitive. You could get an HDMI input selector with audio extraction. Connect your sources to it with HDMI.

How to fix no sound and digital blinking on my pioneer?
Disconnect then reconnect the HDMI cable between the Cable Box and the Pioneer receiver, making sure it is secure on both ends. Then plug the Cable Box back into power and once rebooted turn everything back on and select the CBL Input on the Pioneer. The sound should be restored and the Digital light no longer blinking.
