Why does my sound bar keep coming on?

By William Clark

Why does my sound bar keep coming on?

The sound bar is designed to be connected to your TV and turn on and off when your TV turns on and off. If you have the bar connected directly to a Smart TV with an optical cable and it is, seemingly, powering on by itself at random times, then it is likely an internet connection issue.

How to turn sound bar off on its own?

1 Turn on your Soundbar and change the source to AUX then Press and hold the play/pause button for 5-7 seconds. Release the button when you see the Soundbar display start scrolling ‘On – Auto Power Down’ Note: If display didn’t show the expected text then unplug the soundbar for 10 seconds and then plug it back in.

What happens if you leave your sound bar on all the time?

Just like any other speaker, you can damage your soundbar if you leave it on all the time. It can get overheated, pose a fire hazard, and unnecessarily use up energy. While it may seem convenient and harmless to keep your soundbar on all the time, you can shorten the lifetime of your investment, amongst other things.

How long does it take for soundbar to go to standby?

Press POWER button and VOLUME DOWN buttons on soundbar (not remote) simultaneously for 10 seconds. This seems to have disabled the auto shutoff for 4 hours, based on my initial test. The soundbar went to standby after 4 hours. This may be tolerable, but I’ll continue testing.”
