Why does my Sub keep turning off?

By Olivia Owen

Why does my Sub keep turning off?

Your car subwoofer can turn on and off, again and again, because of the amplifier going into the protection mode, loose wiring problems, insufficient sources of power, damages in the amplifier, defective wire leads, poor fuse, overheating of the amplifier, and damage to the cone seal.

Can clipping damage amp?

Facts about clipping: Any clipped signal can potentially damage a speaker. It does not matter whether the mixer, amplifier, or any other piece of audio equipment clips the signal in the system. Damage can occur even when the amplifier is not at full output.

Can a bad ground cause clipping?

now bad ground can cause you to clip for the reason that your not feeding what the amp demands. when u don’t give what the amp demands it has no other option then to run at lover volumes other wise the amps power will drop and the sound waves won’t be transmitted correctly which will clip the signal which is also bad.

Can an amp catch fire?

Prolonged continuous operation of an amplifier, speaker, or subwoofer in a distorted, clipped or over-powered manner can cause your audio system to overheat, possibly catching fire and resulting in serious damage to your components and/or vehicle. Amplifiers require up to 4 inches (10cm) open ventilation.

Why does one side of my amp keep cutting off?

On both amps the problem seemed to start the same way about a year ago with just one side of the amp shutting down. It took extra volume from the head unit (Alpine 7903) to bring the effected side back on and it would run fine for a while.

Why does my amplifier cut off after 3sec?

I THINK THEY GET A MEMORY AND STRETCH AND BECOME SLOPPY. MINE USED TO WORK O.K. ON THE HIGHWAY, BUT SOON AS I GOT ON THE BACKROADS, IT STARTED CUTTING OUT FOR 3SEC, COMING ON FOR A COUPLE, ETC. HOPE THIS HELPS. I ONLY WITH WE COULD GET THRU TO ALPINE AND SEE IF THEY COULD GET US NEW PLASTIC REMOTE LEADS OR FIX THE PROBLEM FOR US.

Do you have a problem with your amp?

There must be a complicated and expensive problem with your amp or with your instrument. Hit pause. Remain calm. Don’t overthink it from the jump. Nine times out of ten there probably isn’t a complicated and expensive problem with your amp or with your instrument.

Why does my alpine amplifier keep cutting off?

I TRIED ALL OTHER AMPS AND NONE SOUNDED AS GOOD AS ALPINE. I TRIED TO TALK TO ONE OF THEIR TECHS, BUT NEVER COULD GET HOLD OF ONE. I WOULD LOVE TO GET IT REPAIRED BUT THEY WANT TOO MUCH (MTX, AND OTHERS REPAIR FOR FREE). I MAY HAVE CURED THE PROBS MYSELF (GOD WILLING). MY 3554 HAS A PLASTIC CONNECTOR FOR THE REMOTE (INSTEAD OF A SCREW LUG).
