Will amp turn on without remote wire?

This wire is used to provide the amplifier a signal when to power on and off. When you switch on your stereo, it will send voltage down to tell it to wake up. For testing purposes you can turn on any car amp without a remote wire. It is perfectly safe to do and you will not damage your car audio eqiupment.

How do I test my amp remote wire?

Just like you would test power and ground, you can test your remote turn on wire. With the ignition in the OFF position, place the positive lead of the multimeter on the end of the remote turn on wire and place the negative lead of the multimeter to a grounding point.

Now the scary part: unplug the power cables (yellow and orange) going from the huge inductor/transformer to each of the amplifier boards, and then plug power into the amp and turn it on. Use extreme caution, there is live 120V leads in areas that you can touch with your hand!

Why does my amp keep getting too much power?

Notice any broken wires, burnt-out wires, or anything else that looks out of place. These signs of damage could be the reason the amp is getting too much power. What does it mean when your amp blows before you turn it on?

If the fuse blows before you turn on the amp, the problem may be in the electrical circuit. This could mean your car or home wiring is broken or getting too much power. If the fuse blows as soon as you turn the amp on, the amp probably has an internal problem that needs to be fixed.

Check the wiring to make sure the amp is plugged in. Go over all the wires, double-checking that they are plugged in correctly. If the amp doesn’t activate at all when you turn it on, the problem could have to do with the power supply.

Why is my amp NOT working with my speakers?

If your amp turns on but no sound comes out of the speakers, your overall setup may be the problem. Not all speakers are compatible with an amp. If your amp is still alive, it will respond when you connect it to speakers and other devices in good condition. Turn up the volume to see if anything changes.

Why does my Behringer AMP not power up?

I have an A500 Behringer power amp that will not power up. I replaced the power cord and fuse with known working ones, with no result. Next, I took the fuse I tested in it and plugged it back into a working amp of the same model, which ran fine (so I know the amp isn’t just killing fuses).
